The 100 Best Books

24 Jul

Newsweek recently posted a metalist of top ten book lists from all overy the place- libraries, magazines, Oprah- and came up with this.

I’ve decided to try and make my way through the whole list, just for kicks.  There are many books on the list I’ve read, but more that I haven’t. So I’m using a random interger generator to come up with a number 1-100 and will then read the corresponding book.

I’ve just finished my first read, To Kill A Mockingbird. Somehow I managed to make it through all my years of schooling without reading this classic.  It’s a beautiful book.  I always love stories told from a young character’s point of view, that describe complex and difficult situations with the limited language and understanding of a young person.  So far so good.
