Exquisite Corpse Call for Participants

Exquisite Corpse

I’m currently organizing a show here in Knoxville that’s based off the Exquisite Corpse game, or for the middle-school inclined, the telephone game (you know, where one person whispers something to another person, and then that person whispers to the next person, and the whispering continues to the last person, who inevitably says something almost wholly different than what the first person said). Right, well. Four photographers took a photo of someone. Each photo was passed on to two writers who wrote a story or poem based on the photo. Each piece of writing has now been passed on to two artists, who are currently working on pieces based on the writing without seeing the photos. All the works created will be shown at a gallery opening in May.

Here’s where you come in- I’m thinking about expanding this to this here blog. Each month I’d love to display a group of three pieces, one photo, one piece of writing based on that photo and one piece of art based on that writing. If you’re a photographer or writer or artist (or aspiring photographer or writer or artist) and are interested in being a part of one of these collaborations, leave a comment here or shoot me an email at mackeyda [at] gmail [dot] com and I’ll be in contact with you about the details.
