Last weekend I made my first ever batch of pesto.  I’m not sure what took me so long to get around to it, especially since our bathtub herb planter has been overflowing with basil all summer.  In any case, I stepped into the pesto ring for Slow Food Knoxville’s pesto competition and while I regrettably did not win, I did get my pesto feet wet and look forward to much pesto making in the future.  I’ll share a recipe once I’ve perfected one.
