“Hello Fall” Cocktail

15 Nov

If you have any interest in this blog, which I’m assuming you must if you’re reading this, you should definitely check out eat make read. It’s full of cocktails, food and crafts galore, with a beautiful layout and great photos.  Given my love of things both alcoholic and pear, I decided to try “hello fall”, a cocktail with gin, rosemary, lemon juice and pear, while visiting some friends this weekend.  I didn’t bring a muddler or shaker and bought pears that were just a little too firm, but the cocktails were delicious nonetheless.  I upped the rosemary ante by using rosemary-infused simple syrup. Here’s the recipe:

hello fall
makes 1 cocktail

1/2 of a pear, cut into small chunks
a few rosemary sprigs
1 1/2 oz gin
1/2 oz simple syrup

Using a muddler, mix up the pear and rosemary until the pear has turned into a purée.
Add ice, gin and simple syrup and shake for about  5 seconds.
Strain into a dainty glass and enjoy!
