Cocktail of the Week: Blood Orange Bourbon Soda

10 Mar

I like buying Lorina sparkling lemonade and fruit sodas because not only are they tasty, they come in attractive glass bottles that come in handy for storing various concoctions like infused spirits, flavored syrups and homemade liqueurs.  I recently bought Lorina’s blood orange soda and while it’s yummy, it’s a little sweet for my liking, so I thought I’d make a cocktail that tempered the sweetness a bit… with bourbon!  It also uses clementines, which I’m consuming by the mini-crate-ful, to punch up the citrus.

Blood Orange Bourbon Soda

  • 2 oz bourbon
  • juice of one clementine
  • 3 dashes orange bitters
  • Lorina Blood Orange Soda

Shake bourbon and clementine juice in an iced cocktail shaker.  Strain into a glass with fresh ice, add bitters and top with blood orange soda.  Enjoy!
